As one interested enough in the issues of the high-voltage grid to agree to remain on our mailing list, you might appreciate the summary of the actions our coalition, Americans for a Clean Energy Grid (ACEG), has taken in the first full year of its formal existence. We hope you have benefitted from our webinars and outreach such as our recent discussion of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s study of bridging the seams of the Eastern and Western Interconnections.
The expansion, modernization, and integration of the bulk power system are prerequisites for achieving national goals for affordability, reliability, and sustainability of the electricity service that increasingly supplies the most critical form of energy to virtually every fixed end use in our society, and is now supplanting fossil fuels in transportation as well. ACEG’s coalition of diverse stakeholders and interests may not always agree on all the goals and how to achieve them, but does agree on the need to develop the transmission grid that will make achieving them possible. I invite you to consider whether you too might want to participate actively with ACEG in moving toward a clean energy grid, in which case please let us know, and thank you in any event for continuing to follow us along the way.
With best regards,
