Upcoming Event: Transmission Time Webinar 

On December 9, 2021 at 3:00pm EST, join us for the next installment of Transmission Time, titled "The Case for Proactive Transmission Planning: An Update on the FERC Reform Proceeding and Next Steps." Proactive planning was supported by 174 entities in response to FERC's Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANOPR) relating to longer-term regional transmission planning, cost-allocation, and generator interconnection processes. Speakers will discuss the proposed reforms, why proactive transmission planning is supported, and what this means for the future of transmission.

Build Back Better passes in the House, now awaits Senate action

November 19, 2021 — The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Build Back Better Act in a 220-213 vote. In its current state, the bill includes transformational climate investments that could keep the United States in line with decarbonization goals. This bill provides provisions that could develop the high-voltage transmission capacity needed to achieve a modern power system and a clean energy economy.
Rob Gramlich speaks at FERC's Technical Conference on Transmission Planning

November 15, 2021— Executive Director Rob Gramlich made a strong case for proactive transmission planning at FERC's recent technical hearing, which examined issues and potential reforms related to transmission planning processes. Panelists discussed factors shaping future transmission needs and possible approaches to long-term scenario planning that considers anticipated future changes to the power sector.
