Running in San Francisco

While SFRRC is not yet having an official club run, test runs with members and pace groups continue. Again, thank you for being so conscientious (spelling correction from last Friday 😂) and safe each week!

Our Mike Lavine was spotted on a Runner's World ad last Friday. And on Saturday morning it was so good seeing him, in the Hoka Bondi 7, and others from the club at Fort Mason.

To those who took part in the costume part of our Halloween Run Challenge... Thank you for the smiles! Absolutely fantastic costumes.  —jb

AWESOME COSTUMES!!

And Susan and Laura!
Above: Not photoshopped! :) Yes, that is Eric Lum, our 10min/mile pace group leader and superhero, in the midst of take-off! Plus, our Club Ambassador, Elizabeth Seirmarco, with tons of space between others. And our awesome test run leader, Matt Jeung, with arms out!

Below: Our fearless 9:30min/mile pace leader, Wing Wong, was not going to let a few injuries keep him from supporting SFRRC. Nor were injuries going to keep our Lynne Langlois down. Thankfully, our superheros, Andrei and Diodita, Registered Nurse (RN), were close at hand if needed. 😷👻😇

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES: In addition to our shoe discount with A Runner's Mind below, consider registering (and marking your calendar) for:

(1) Our next Book Club read—The popular "A 3,700-mile run to explore unseen America" by Rickey Gates. It's an easy/fun read. And/or on Audiobook. :)
(2) Our final of the year Yoga for Runners session on Thursday, Nov. 19th

Team SFRRC - Virtual Race

Thank you to everybody who took part in the California Meaningful Miles 5k/10k. Team SFRRC crushed it—rasing $2340 for Back on My Feet and with 25 teams signed up SFRRC had the second most participants with 39 members. We were only beat by the Balega Socks team.

For the race itself, big congrats to our Peter Florin who was the second male finisher—to an Olympian from the 2016 Games in Rio—in the 10k. We had two more Top 10 Overall finishers—Morgan McGovern in the 5k and Gary Lee in the 10k. Awesome work!!

Halloween Scary Hills Run Challenge

Well done to our participants and winners in our Halloween Scary Hills Run Challenge! To @aude_hofleitner and @ryanherring9 for their incredible run covering 2300 ft in elevation! The views must have been amazing! To Chinh for the steepest 1 miler where he covered 1467 ft of elevation! Whoa! To our costumed winner @aostrea aka Bat Woman who enjoyed a caped crusader run in the Presidio hills.

A special shout out to @karlamei for her very creative “VOTE” run art for the challenge! We loved it!

We’re sending you products from @scienceinsport to help fuel future runs!

Please stay safe and warm...
Have a nice weekend, SFRRC.
