NYC Service AmeriCorps 2025-2026 Host Site Application Open

The NYC Service AmeriCorps Program is now accepting Host Site applications from NYC-based Nonprofit organizations interested in hosting a dedicated AmeriCorps member.
The 2025-2026 Host Site Application is open until March 16th!
Why Host an AmeriCorps Member?

  • Enhance your programs, expand outreach, and strengthen community partnerships
  • Mentor and grow emerging talent for the next cohort of civic leaders at a low-cost
  • Join a network that, last year alone, helped 57,000+ New Yorkers, hosted 800+ trainings and outreach events, and recruited 1,100 volunteers.
Our AmeriCorps members serve full-time at 35 hours a week for 10 months (Sept. 2025-June 2026), helping organizations and city agencies build capacity in volunteer management, community outreach & engagement, and program development.
If you are familiar with NYC Service, this year’s program may look a little different and that’s because it is! Our previous programs, City Service Corps, NYC Civic Corps, and NYCHA Health Corps, are now combined for ease and efficiency into the new NYC Service AmeriCorps Program!

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Department of Veterans Affairs is planning an “aggressive” reorganization that includes cutting 80,000 jobs from the sprawling agency that provides health care for retired military members, according to an internal memo obtained by The Associated Press.

The VA’s chief of staff, Christopher Syrek, told top level officials at the agency that it had an objective to cut enough employees to return to 2019 staffing levels of just under 400,000. That would require terminating tens of thousands of employees after the VA expanded during the Biden administration, as well as to cover veterans impacted by burn pits under the 2022 PACT Act. [READ MORE]

A Message From Mayor Adams:
Each week DVS shares a brief update about how our administration is getting stuff done for New Yorkers.
Our administration works every day to create a more affordable city, and that means ensuring our young people have the education and the skills needed for lucrative careers in our city. Last week, we announced our Career and Technical Education program has helped students earn over $18 million through apprenticeships and work-based learning. Students gain real-world experience through internships, apprenticeships, and mentorships, preparing them for the job market. We’re ensuring that students not only receive a solid education but have ample career opportunities as well.
