National Disabled Veterans Golf Clinic
Application Period Open

The National Disabled Veterans Golf Clinic (NDVGC) is a week-long adaptive golf program that is presented by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and DAV (Disabled American Veterans). This annual event promotes rehabilitation by instructing Veterans with specific life-changing disabilities in adaptive golf.

The event provides eligible Veterans with an opportunity to participate in therapeutic adaptive sporting and other recreational activities; which demonstrates that having a visual impairment or physical disability is a conquerable obstacle to an active, fulfilling and rewarding life. In addition to adaptive golf Veterans will be introduced to other adaptive recreational sports.

For a list of qualifying disabilities, visit their page here, or contact Nick Beelner at (319) 358-5963 or Nicholas.Beelner@va.gov

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Department of Veterans Affairs has temporarily suspended billions of dollars in planned contract cuts following concerns that the move would hurt critical veterans’ health services, lawmakers and veterans service organizations said Wednesday.

The pause affects hundreds of VA contracts that Secretary Doug Collins a day earlier described as simply consulting deals, whose cancellation would save $2 billion as the Trump administration works to slash costs across the federal government.

“No more paying consultants to do things like make Power Point slides and write meeting minutes!” Collins posted to X Tuesday, in a post that was then lauded by Elon Musk, President Donald Trump’s cost-cutting chief at the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE. [READ MORE]

A Message From Mayor Adams:
Each week DVS shares a brief update about how our administration is getting stuff done for New Yorkers.
Our administration works every day to create a more affordable city, and that means building affordable housing in every neighborhood, in every borough. Last week, we announced the Coney Island redevelopment project that will build 1,500 new homes, make critical investments in new streets and sewers, reconstruct the historic boardwalk, and more. We’re ensuring this historic community is not only one of the best places to take your family for a fun day, but one of the best places to live and raise your family as well.
Week in Review | February 15 - February 21
The Adams administration is dedicated to cutting through the noise and delivering information directly to you and all New Yorkers.
