Movement created during the workshop series will be presented in a public performance at the Intrepid Museum, followed by a post-show dialogue with the audience.

Exit12 is looking for military members, veterans, and their families in the NYC metro area to join them. Participants will receive a stipend and travel reimbursement. No prior dance experience is needed; modifications will be made to ensure all attendees can participate fully.

Pentagon will cut billions of dollars in programs but not its overall budget, Hegseth says
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth delivers recorded remarks at the Pentagon on Feb. 20, 2025. Hegseth said he will immediately begin shifting billions of dollars away from nonlethal programs in connection with a broader reorganization of military priorities. (Alexander Kubitza/Defense Department)

Hegseth said the military is now working up plans to restructure the Pentagon budget. Funds redirected from programs deemed nonessential will go to supporting initiatives such as rebuilding the defense industrial base, border security and an array of weapons programs.

The Pentagon also is looking to trim overhead, beginning with a review of probationary employees, which generally refers to recent hires. He said that jobs won’t be eliminated in an across-the-board manner and that performance will be considered.

A Message From Mayor Adams:
Each week DVS shares a brief update about how our administration is getting stuff done for New Yorkers.
Our administration works every day to create a more affordable city, and that means launching initiatives aimed to deliver more jobs for New Yorkers. For the eighth time under our administration, we’ve set a record with over 4.7 million jobs, the highest in our city’s history. This week’s "Jobs Week" announcements are connecting even more New Yorkers to employment — whether by helping grow small businesses already here or encouraging more companies to bring their jobs to the five boroughs. We are focused on putting more New Yorkers to work and ensuring NYC is more affordable and the best place to raise a family. At DVS, through our Veteran Business Leadership Association, we collaborate with SBS and a network of public and private partners to equip veteran entrepreneurs with the tools, resources and connections they need to run and grow their veteran business in New York City.
