Summer 2019 Update

Levitt Pavilion San Jose Approaches a Big Milestone

Rick Holden, Board PresidentAs a valued supporter of Levitt Pavilion San Jose, we'd like to update you on the journey towards a music stage at St. James Park in Downtown San Jose.

Levitt Pavilion San Jose will transform the northeast portion of St. James Park into a venue for 50 free family-friendly concerts each year. It will serve as an accessible, professional venue for local artists to perform and for producers to host events.
  • The music stage will be funded through a three-way partnership between the City of San José, The Levitt Foundation, and us, the Friends of Levitt Pavilion San Jose (FLPSJ).
  • A big milestone will be completing the contract for the three-way partnership. Approval of the agreement by the city council is planned for early 2020.
  • Determining the contributions from the City, local partners and the community is key in completing the agreement and finalizing the design for the pavilion. It is a big part of our current work.
  • Along with the contract agreement we hope the City Council will review and approve the Environmental Impact Report at the same time.
The journey continues! Stop by and say hi to us as we’ll continue to be at many of the outdoor music events for the rest of the summer, including Music in the Park and some of the summer events at St. James Park. Interested in volunteering for FLPSJ at one of these events? Please contact us!

In addition, follow us on Facebook and Twitter as we highlight local live music events and programs. Send us any questions, or let us know if you wish to support this project.

Thank you,

Rick Holden,
Board President, Friends of Levitt Pavilion San Jose
