Quite a lot of European data- and investigative journalists are heading to Mechelen, a nice town in Belgium, to attend this year's Dataharvest, the main event for the data- and investigative journalism community in Europe, which runs until Sunday this week. 

EDJNet folks will be there as well, both presenting and attending a number of sessions. In case you too are there we look forward to meeting you from tomorrow onwards: to make it easier, we've listed here below all the sessions where one or more members of EDJNet will speak:

• 1pm: Eva Belmonte, Giorgio Comai, María Álvarez del Vayo explain how you can convert complex laws and context into useful and usable data, based on the experience of EDJNet's investigations on access to mental health care and to assisted reproduction techniques across Europe. 
• 1pm: Rui Barros teaches some web basics, i.e. how the web works and how to scrape it, together with Max Harlow.

• 9.30am: Eva Belmonte, Kira Schacht, and Federico Caruso present EDJNet's investigations on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in prisons and on the abuse of pretrial detention in Europe. They'll discuss challenges, methodologies, and organisation of such cross-border collaborative projects.
• 9.30am: Rui Barros presents some dataviz tools for daily journalistic routine, together with Krisztian Szabo. 
• 1.15pm: Lorenzo Ferrari and Federico Caruso discuss European railway contradictions together with Attila Kálmán and Jon Worth, based on EDJNet's investigations on train alternatives to flights in Europe and on cross-border trains. 
• 1.15pm: Carmen Torrecillas offers an introduction to JavaScript, together with Victor Nițu. 
• 3pm: Carmen Torrecillas and Rui Barros share tips for data visualization in a web-based notebook environment.
• 3pm: David Cabo explains how you can unveil secret algorithms through FOIA requests, together with Eva Constantaras, Htet Aung, and Gabriel Geiger. 
• 3pm: Eva Belmonte shares her experience with, among others, coordinating some EDJNet's investigations in the session on how to be a (better) data editor, together with Max Harlow, Dominik Balmer, Jan Lukas Strozyk, Marie-Louise Timcke, and Helena Bengtsson.
• 4.45pm: Carmen Torrecillas and Rui Barros explain how you can make your first News Application using Svelte. 

• 9.30am: Giorgio Comai presents some strategies and tools for journalists to use Wikidata, based on use cases and examples developed in the context of EDJNet; Friedrich Lindenberg will also present during the session.
• 9.30am: Rui Barros presents some dataviz tools for daily journalistic routine, together with Krisztian Szabo.
