Hello Church Family,

I am so thankful for each opportunity Paul allows me to preach and share God’s Word with our faith family! As you go throughout this week and the days ahead, doubt will confront you and those around you…may we be found intently listening for the voice of the One that can conquer that doubt in our lives as He says to us as He did to Thomas, “Do not disbelieve, but believe.”

Sunday School Leader Appreciation
Tuesday, May 4th, was Teacher Appreciation Day. This is a day set aside to celebrate and say thank you to the teachers around us. Well, I want to say the First Baptist Church has some amazing teachers and leaders that have followed the Lord’s calling and utilize His giftings each week through the Sunday School ministry of our church. We have excellent leaders/teachers leading in all age groups throughout the congregation. These leaders/teachers diligently study and prepare lessons for each Sunday, take the opportunity to contact those that missed being with the group, reach out to guests and potential new members, coordinate the care and connection of class members, plan & prepare activities for the class, and so much more. All of these things are done with great sacrifice of their time and energy and are done with the intent of making, maturing, and multiplying disciples for the glory of God! Take the opportunity this week to express your gratitude for your leaders and the teacher of those in your family! Also, if you don’t have a teacher for Sunday School because you aren’t involved in a class…I know many teachers who would be excited to have you in their class! Contact me and we can find you a class!

In the love of Christ,
Wesley S. Dunn

Ladies Bible Study:
Finding I Am: See How Jesus Fully Satisfies The Cry Of Your Heart
What is the deep cry of your heart? That ache in your soul that keeps you up at night? The prayer you keep repeating? Jesus not only cares about this deep, spiritual wrestling, but He also wants to step in and see you through it.

Join Lysa TerKeurst on the streets of Israel to explore the seven I AM statements of Jesus found in the Gospel of John. Through this interactive, in-depth study, you will learn to:
  • Trade feelings of emptiness and depletion for a more personal fulfillment from knowing who Jesus is.
  • Stop living like a slave to your circumstances by training your heart to embrace the life-giving freedom God wants for you.
  • Gain a better understanding of how Jesus' words 2,000 years ago are so very applicable to the answers we are searching for today.
This study will be facilitated by Leigha Taylor and will meet at 6pm in FBC’s choir room (230).
Open Bible Study
Lamentations: Crying Out with Hope
“Unlike made-for-TV movies, real life rarely resolves itself cleanly. The paper-thin veneer of ‘a perfect Christian life’ is a modern invention crafted with the tools of Western consumerism. The idyllic life, untouched by pain, is simply not in the Bible or in the long history of the church. That’s good news. The incongruence we find in our lives is what God knows. After all, it is only comforting that God is with us if we are in fact walking the valley of the shadow of death.” —Stephen Smith | Why do God’s people lament? How do God’s people lament? Do I even know how to lament? And if I lament, how can I do it with hope in the ever-faithful God?

Join us for this study on Wednesday evenings
at 6pm in FBC’s West Chapel (Room 166).
Youth (6-12 grade)

From 5-6, students are encouraged to eat, fellowship, and hangout in the youth room.

From 6-7, we move to The REC for a devotional through selected passages in Philippians and participate in various games, including but not limited to: kickball, bubble soccer, and outdoor messy games.
Preschool & Children (K-5)

Come ready to have fun and dig into Romans! Every week we'll look at a different chapter of the book to answer the question: What is the Gospel and why is it the most important thing in the world?
