SDSU Division of Student Affairs & Campus Diversity

sdsu virtual family week

October 19-23, 2020 - RSVP HERE!

SDSU Family Weekend is a time-honored tradition meant to bring together and celebrate our students and their parents and families. Respectful of current circumstances, we are not able to invite families to visit campus, but we would like to bring the campus to you virtually through a week-long schedule of evening events.

Events will include: cultural receptions and open houses, academic lectures, highlights from Student Affairs and Campus Diversity departments and MORE!

For a full schedule and more information, visit our website

SDSU Flex Updates

The in-person pause, which was initially put in place through Monday, Oct. 5, is now being extended one week further, through Monday, Oct. 12.

Effective Oct. 12, a limited number of unique courses will resume in-person. Most of these courses are upper-division or graduate level, and have been determined by faculty and academic leaders to be essential to student degree completion, licensure, and career preparation. These courses cannot be fully carried out in the virtual space due to equipment use, off-campus research or clinical requirements, or because of accreditation or licensing requirements. The course list of in-person classes is published on the Registrar’s site. The remaining majority of courses will continue to be offered virtually.

Free COVID testing is available through Student Health Services, the County of San Diego and Imperial County.

"What do you mean you can't discuss the account with me? I'm paying the bills!"

The Family Education Rights & Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) protects the privacy of student education records, including financial records. For a student's information to be disclosed to anyone, the student must authorize the individual.

If someone other than the student will be paying the bills, a Parent Account may be created which will allow the individual to make payments to SDSU on the student's behalf. This user would also receive eBill notifications via email.

Aztecs Rock Hunger!

Now more than ever, SDSU needs you to participate in the annual Aztecs Rock Hunger campaign, which continues through Oct. 18.

Aztecs Rock Hunger supports the Jacobs and Cushman San Diego Food Bank and the Associated Students Food Pantry, and 20 percent of monetary donations go to the SDSU Economic Crisis Response Team, which has been supporting students at an unprecedented level during COVID-19.

The goal is 650,000 pounds of food to support the 15% of San Diegans who are food-insecure. Just $1 is the equivalent of 6 pounds of food.

Visit the Aztecs Rock Hunger website for more information about how you can donate or participate -- including info on the ARH Virtual 5K, which is Oct. 10-18.

Special Announcements

Commencement Update

We are committed to providing our December 2019, May 2020 and August 2020 graduates the opportunity to participate in a future in-person ceremony. We are cautiously optimistic that we will be able to resume recognizing our graduates in-person in May 2021, and are currently exploring various scheduling and venue options.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the continued restrictions against hosting large gatherings, we are unable to move forward with the December 2020 in-person ceremonies.
