Annual Poetry Competition

Some of you will remember from our AGM we talked about an annual poetry competition in the name of one of our members, Loiuse Griffiths. We are now in active planning for this year's competition which will be launched in Refugee Week 2020. We are keen to include refugees themselves as possible entrants and are also looking for ideas to ensure we get maximum publicity. If you have any suggestions on either topic, please let me know.

Art Exhibition
call for volunteers

From the 28th April to 3rd May we are hosting an art exhibition with two short films in the Ignite Ballina Council studios in Ballina. Our launch will be on Thursday 5.30-7pm, 30th April. The exhibition comprises a number of pieces designed by refugees through a joint project in Coffs Harbour with Anglicare and Southern Cross University. You should look forward to receiving an invite to the launch.

To ensure we can welcome as many people as possible to the exhibition, we need to provide volunteers from 10-4 each day and 10-2.30 on the weekends. This message is a call out to you to step forward, even for a few hours. Please again email myself or Meg Pickup,  or call me, if you can assist in any way.

Best wishes, Ruth
