MINI MODERN IMPROV
Join us on Sunday, Dec. 6th at 1:30 pm for a guest appearance with the Quilter on Fire. Born and raised in Winnipeg for 40 years, Brandy is thrilled to come back (virtually) to say hello to her Manitoba friends and demonstrate some Mini Modern Improv.

Brandy Maslowski is a quilter and fibre artist who loves humans, hiking, travel and tea. She is a quilt teacher, speaker, judge and the author of children’s picture book Kristy’s Quilt. She has been a light-hearted stitcher for 30 years. From clumsy beginner quilter all the way to showing her fibre art in galleries, Brandy has a passion for fabric, stitch, colour, texture and everything quilting. She loves to host her annual Ignite Okanagan Quilting Retreat and travel the world with quilters to ignite their creativity with the tag line “More JOY, less OVERWHELM.” You can find her as the Quilter on Fire on Youtube, Facebook and Instagram. Visit her website at www.quilteronfire.com or listen in every Tuesday at 1pm Pacific time to the Quilter on Fire podcast.

Guild Challenges

CHALLENGE YOURSELF:
Melissa Marginet, WMQG member at large, has planned a challenge to boost your creativity. We hope you will join in the fun! If you haven’t joined in the fun yet, it’s not too late. We encourage you to join anytime, share all your photos at the end or every two months when the new theme is announced.

September - October theme: Modern Traditionalism
November - December theme: Negative Space

All pieces must be 8.5" x 11". In the end all four challenges must have something to connect them such as colour, texture, shape, or another element that ties them all together.

"Modern Traditionalism" mini quilts shared by members at November's meet-up.

PLACEMATS:
Thanks to those who have dropped off their placemats. They will be delivered to Meals-on-Wheels when it’s safe to do so. Keep up the great work, they are beautiful! The placemats will be delivered when it is safe to do so.

Would you like to understand what your machine is telling you when you aren't getting the results you want? Join Bernie Tobisch, sewing machine repairman/technician extraordinaire, certified Bernina (and a whole bunch of others) technician, author of “You and Your Sewing Machine” and “Sewing Reference Tool”, for a Zoom chat.
