FREE Demo/Presentation -

Dawn Piasta will demo Apliquick

Time to fall in love with appliqué — the Apliquick way.  Dawn Piasta will be presenting a short demo that will definitely take away any fear (or dislike) you have of appliqué. The Apliquick tools are an extension of your hands and take the frustration out appliqué. The precision tools were designed in Spain and are made of the finest medical grade steel that will last a lifetime. Beautiful hexies, circles, thin lines, concave and convex curves will be demonstrated. The demo will definitely wet everyone's appetite for appliqué again.

Guilds are holding board meetings, general membership meetings, classes and informal small-group meetings via Zoom.

Guild members love three things the most:

  • They get to see and talk to each other again!
  • They can see all demos up close when the demo is on screen.
  • They have their whole stash to work from and don’t have to carry anything anywhere or worry about driving or parking!

Guild Challenges

CHALLENGE YOURSELF:
Melissa Marginet, WMQG member at large, has planned a challenge to boost your creativity. We hope you will join in the fun!

There will be four challenges: September, November, January, March. Melissa will announce the new theme at the November meet-up.

All pieces must be 8.5" x 11". In the end all four challenges must have something to connect them such as colour, texture, shape, or another element that ties them all together.

PLACEMATS:
We are partnering with “Meals On Wheels”, supplying them with placemats for their clients. Here’s your chance to be creative, practice a new technique, use up some of your scrap fabrics or try a new pattern. Keep it fun and cost effective. Suggested size is 13” x 18”. To donate, there will be a box on the front steps of the addresses (at right) for you to drop off your completed placemats during the last two weeks in November.

Placemat drop boxes at:
- 39 Norilyn Bay (East Kildonan)
- 497 Waterloo Street (River Heights)

Thanks to Marj Moore for the photo and instructions for the placemat.
