What's up at the farm?

Welcome to spring: what a beautiful weather! There’s something to say for all that warmth and sunshine. Bye-bye winter blues. We’re not missing it one bit.

Raymond is back out on the tractor in the fields – fertilizing, plowing, disking. Getting the farm ready for the first vegetable seeding later this week. We could not ask for more cooperative weather!

The greenhouse plantings are all up to schedule. Sara has been working on growing plants since early March, and in a week or two we should be setting out the first plants of the season in the field. This farm is in ‘rapid turnaround’ mode right now – stepping out of the snow, into the farming season!

Richard and Barryton are on their way back from Jamaica. We’re. After 8 years here on the farm, they are like family to us. We are looking forward to working with them again this season.

So, we got the deck stacked for a first CSA harvest comes early June. May the sun shine, the warmth stay, and the rain come every now and then. Let the crops grow!

Your farmers,

Raymond and Sara

Fox Creek Farm CSA in your neighborhood

Our 2023 Fox Creek Farm CSA pick-up sites: Honest Weight Food Co-op, Delmar Reformed Church, Guilderland (Foundry Road), Clifton Park (Christ Community Reformed Church), Altamont Reformed Church, Schenectady/Niskayuna (Grand Blvd), DEC Main Office, DEC Region 4 headquarters, SUNY Administrative, and of course the farm in Gallupville.

Want to bring Fox Creek Farm CSA closer to you? There is still time to add pick-up or delivery sites to the roster!

Based on our 2022 CSA member locations, we would love to add sites near the University at Albany (SUNY), the southern part of Delmar, and the Loudonville area (in the triangle made by I-90, I-87 and US Rt. 9), and Lark Street.

We also can make deliveries to your place of work, if there are enough people interested. Our CSA drop-offs are very low impact, as we can pre-pack and box the CSA shares. No need to set up tables or have someone present to help coordinate the pick-up.

We welcome your suggestions – please contact us by email if you want to help.

Preview: This summer's on-farm happenings

As you know, Fox Creek Farm CSA isn’t just about exceptional produce. We also share with you our beautiful farm. Of course we’ll again plant a large U-pick garden (complementary with your CSA share). Our hands-on garlic harvest will be around the third weekend of July.

But new for 2023 will be our mid-summer bonfire party. It’s still in the concept phase, but when we know more, we’ll let you know!

CSA Shares for this season still available!

We still have shares available for the 2023 harvest season. Signed up already? Great! On the fence about a Fox Creek Farm CSA share? This is the time to act. You won’t be disappointed! And yes, Fox Creek Farm CSA shares make great gifts!
