Farm News: The 2021 garlic crop is in!
In this week's share
We invite you to come & visit the U-Pick
Richard and Barryton with an early morning harvest of lettuce.
The 2021 garlic crop is curing in the greenhouse! And it looks like one of the best garlic crops we ever harvested. Our work party was a success - and thankfully the weather wasn't bad at all. It was so nice to see some familiar and new faces here at the farm after a year of no on-farm events. Thank you all for your help!
As we took today (Saturday) to harvest the garlic, this week's newsletter is in a bit different format than you're used to. Lots of garlic related pictures - rest assured, as soon as the crop is cured, we'll start adding this years crop to the shares!
Enjoy this week's harvest,
Raymond and Sara
In this week's share:
Tendersweet cabbage, Summer squash and cucumbers. The full shares will also receive onions.
We are rotating lettuce, eggplant, kale, Swiss chard, basil, and parsley.
We invite you to come and visit the U-Pick!
Come and see your farm - and enjoy the U-pick. It's a beautiful garden, and right now there is a lot of different culinary herbs ready to pick, as well as the first flowers and hot peppers.
The U-pick is open from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily, no appointment necessary, and is complementary to your Fox Creek Farm CSA membership. No additional charge – we just ask you to pick what you will use, and to keep in mind that the garden is shared with a lot of other shareholders.
The garden is big enough to keep 6' social distancing.
Bags and harvest scissors are available at the garden!
(The U-pick is also a nice place to bring out your camera,
as Mike Warner demonstrates with the pictures above and below)
