1. Starbucks is OPEN!

Starbucks is now OPEN in the UTHSC Madison Plaza Food Court, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 2:00 pm. The UTHSC Madison Plaza Food Court is located on the first floor of 920 Madison Avenue.

2. Sales Tax Holiday at UTHSC VolShop on July 31

Purchase clothing, school supplies, and computers TAX FREE from the UTHSC VolShop on Friday, July 31. Payroll deduction is available for qualifying purchases.

Added BONUS – if you purchase a Mac desktop, laptop, or iPad (Air or Pro), you will receive FREE AirPods!

Visit the store at uthscvolshop.com or in the Madison Plaza on the Memphis campus. Store hours are currently 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.

3. Fitness Center and SAC to Remain Closed

With the rise of COVID-19 cases across Tennessee, in Shelby County, and on campus, the UTHSC Fitness Center and the Student-Alumni Center will continue to be closed until further notice.

The COVID-19 testing site in the gymnasium behind the SAC will remain open.

Campus Recreation will continue to monitor the local and statewide COVID-19 situation. The safety of students and employees on campus is our top priority.

4. Faculty and Staff: Apply Now for the Virtual Diversity Certificate Program

Investing in diversity and inclusion is paramount to improving employee engagement, serving students more effectively, increasing institutional innovation, and preparing more knowledgeable health care professionals.

The Diversity Certificate Program will demonstrate that embracing diversity and inclusion can bring a broader range of perspectives and backgrounds into our organization, leading to more effective decision-making. Participants will gain a sound understanding of the latest research and best practices in the fields of cultural competency and diversity.

This initiative is a training opportunity for faculty and staff and in alignment with the Chancellor’s priority on Equity and Inclusion.

To apply for the virtual Diversity Certificate Program, fill out the application and email it to hsc-oed@uthsc.edu from July 31 through August 2.

5. Employees: Set Up Your NEW Voicemail Now

As part of the modernization of our telecommunications platform, UTHSC has switched to a new office voicemail system.

Employees will be required to go through a brief voice-guided setup the first time you check your voicemail. IMPORTANT: Everyone will use the same default password for this first-time login and must change the password to one of your choice.

Visit the voicemail instructions website for the default password and detailed information about the first-time login as well as how to check your voicemail from UTHSC and non-UTHSC phones.

Please note this change will not affect phone forwarding.
