1. Wear Your Mask Correctly!

Face masks are required on the UTHSC campus, and they must be worn correctly in order for them to be effective.

This article from The New York Times gives a great visual of "How NOT to Wear a Mask":

2. Results from COVID-19 Testing in the SAC

There is a known issue with the patient portal affecting patients being able to receive their results. The technology team is working diligently on these issues with the possibility of a new portal as a resolution. We hope that this will be resolved within a week, and we will release this information as soon as it is available.

In the meantime, we are asking everyone who is tested at the COVID-19 testing site in the SAC to allow at least two calendar days to receive your results through ENCRYPTED email. The results are generally sent the second calendar day by 8:00 pm and again at 10:00 pm. All positive results receive a phone call attempt. If we are unable to reach you, we will send the results via email. All negative results are automatically emailed.

3. Fitness Center Closed

With the rise of COVID-19 cases across Tennessee, in Shelby County, and on campus, the UTHSC Fitness Center and the Student-Alumni Center will be closed through the next two weeks.

The COVID-19 testing site in the gymnasium behind the SAC will remain open.

The tentative reopening date is July 15, however Campus Recreation will continue to monitor the local and statewide COVID-19 situation in case that date should be pushed back. The safety of students and employees on campus is our top priority.

If you have any questions, please contact Campus Recreation at 901.448.5973.

4. Telecommute As Much As Possible

Supervisors, if your employees are able to work from home, please allow them to do so. Telecommuting will help keep the campus population down, and therefore minimize the transmission of COVID-19 on campus.

Employees, if you must come to campus, minimize your contact with other people. Conduct meetings via Zoom or Teams instead of in person. Continue to wear a mask, maintain social distancing, wash hands, and use hand sanitizer regularly.

Please visit the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Employee Guidance website to address questions regarding what to do if you become sick, leave and pay procedures, expectations for essential employees, information on telecommuting, changes to the hiring process, etc.
