1. State of the University – November 2

Please join Chancellor Schwab on Monday, November 2, 1:00 – 2:00 pm via Zoom for his virtual State of the University presentation.

Join the State of the University at (Passcode: 972889).

For those who cannot watch the live event, a recording will be available after the presentation on the Messages from the Chancellor web page.

2. Flu Vaccinations Available at UHS

UTHSC employees and students can schedule an appointment with University Health Services for FREE flu vaccines Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (closed 1:00 – 2:00 pm daily for lunch) at 910 Madison Avenue, 9th Floor, on the Memphis campus.

Flu vaccines are mandatory this year for all UT employees and students, unless you have documentation to support an exemption.

To schedule an appointment, please call University Health Services at 901.448.5630. No walk-ins will be accepted.

Verification of vaccine administration will be provided during the visit.

3. Face Mask Contest

The UTHSC Women’s Resource Group is excited to sponsor a Face Mask Contest! Send a photo of you wearing your mask to by Oct. 30 to join the competition!

Voting for the Face Mask Contest will open on Monday, November 2 at 9:00 am and stay open through Friday, November 6 at 5:00 pm. Entries will be posted on along with the form to submit your vote. Winners will be announced Monday, November 9 and will receive a goodie bag with a small desk plaque.

Rules for entry:
  1. Must not be obscene, discriminatory, or offensive.
  2. Mask should cover your nose and mouth in your submitted photo.
  3. Full face, costume, and harlequin masks are not allowed.
4. Exercise Options Through the UTHSC Fitness Center

The UTHSC Fitness Center has several ways you can exercise during this time of partial operation!
  1. Make a reservation through the Campus Recreation website for the weight and cardio room, meditation studio, or Studio 2 to work out on your own.
  2. Make a reservation through the Campus Recreation website to join an in-person class: 
    • Monday: Yoga at 5:30 pm
    • Tuesday/Thursday: Spin at 5:30 pm
    • Wednesday: Pilates at 5:30 pm 
  3. Take a class via Zoom in the comfort of your home! Email Suzanne at for the link.
    • Monday: Yoga at 5:30 pm 
    • Wednesday: Zumba at 5:30 pm
    • Wednesday: Pilates at 5:30 pm
  4. Follow on Instagram @uthscfitnesshiddengym for workouts at home.

5. Wear Pink Tomorrow!

In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, please join the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor, Communications and Marketing, and the Office of Equity and Diversity by wearing pink tomorrow, Thursday, October 29. A socially-distanced pink group photo will be taken in the front yard of the Student-Alumni Center at 12:10 pm. The first 100 people wearing pink to the photo will receive a pink mask!
