1. Take Your Celebratory Photos in the Courtyard!

The courtyard of the quadrangle on the Memphis campus has just wrapped up a beautiful renovation. We welcome all students to take their celebratory photos (such as graduation or first day of school!) in front of the historic arches on Union, at the UTHSC sign below the flagpoles, on the pavers leading to the Mooney Building, or anywhere else in the courtyard.

Congratulations to our Class of 2021!!!

2. Updated Campus COVID-19 Guidelines

Given the recently updated CDC guidance, along with the new health directives from the cities, counties, and state, the UT Health Science Center has updated the campus COVID-19 guidelines as follows:

  • Masks are not required while outdoors on campus
    • Masks are encouraged for groups when the vaccine status of everyone is not known
  • Masks are not required for COVID-vaccinated individuals while indoors on campus
    • Vaccination is defined as:
      • Pfizer and Moderna: 14 days post second dose
      • Johnson & Johnson: 14 days post single dose
    • Social distancing will be maintained in lecture halls, study spaces, and testing facilities with occupancy of every other seat
    • Social distancing will be maintained on elevators and in other confined spaces
    • Masks may be required in confined spaces where social distancing cannot be maintained, such as labs and simulation suites where posted, at the discretion of UTHSC Campus Safety and Emergency Management
    • Non-vaccinated individuals are expected to wear masks on campus in compliance with CDC guidelines
  • Masks are required for clinical care facilities on campus, including waiting rooms
  • Temperature checks are not required for buildings on campus, except for clinical care facilities
    • Individuals with fever or viral symptoms are expected to not come to campus
  • Students are required to report immunization/vaccination status
    • When vaccinated, students must provide proof of vaccination status, including COVID-19, so UTHSC can certify their status for the clinical, education, and research rotation partners
  • UTHSC will honor immunization vaccination policies of clinical care, education, and research partners when in those facilities
  • Vaccination is strongly encouraged for faculty, students, and staff!
