1. Faculty and Staff Invited to Watch DASH Vendor Presentations

With Oracle and Workday identified as the two finalists as vendors for the DASH project (ERP replacement for IRIS), UT leaders have scheduled demonstrations for faculty and staff members during October and November.

Each vendor will hold an open informational demonstration session to promote student programs to replace Banner, if UT opts to add the student component after replacing finance, human resources and payroll systems.

  • The Oracle demonstrations will be available in person and online at 8:30 am, 10:30 am, and 1:30 pm on Wednesday, October 27.
     
  • The Workday demonstrations will be available at 8:30 am, 10:30 am, and 1:30 pm on Wednesday, November 3.

2. Inaugural Multicultural and Global Health Symposium is Saturday, November 6

All faculty, staff, and students are invited to the 2021 Multicultural and Global Health Symposium, which is the inaugural event bringing the UTHSC community, state leaders, and international health experts together to learn more about emerging topics in multicultural and global health. This is an opportunity to explore the breadth and depth of current research at UTHSC and around the world, network with colleagues, and celebrate the achievements of our leaders, faculty, and students.

The theme for this year’s symposium is “Re-imaging Multicultural and Global Health in the Age of COVID”. The keynote speaker will be Carlos Rodriguez-Galindo, MD, who is the Executive Vice President of St. Jude Children's Hospital and Chair of the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine. This event is approved for 6.25 AMA PRA CME credits.

3. Students: Participate in the Pumpkin Painting Contest

Students, take some time to enjoy the fall by painting a pumpkin! The Office of Student Affairs and Community Engagement is putting on a month-long pumpkin painting contest. You can participate individually or in groups of two or three. Contest runs through October 29.

To enter the Pumpkin Painting Contest:

  • Pick up your pumpkin and painting kit in the Student-Alumni Center, room 300, on the Memphis campus
  • Decorate your pumpkin, take a picture of it, post it to Instagram and tag @UTHSC and @UTHSCSACE or email the picture to sace@uthsc.edu
  • Winner(s) will be chosen by the SACE team and given FREE swag

4. Students: Trick or Treat Pop-Up Event!

Students, this time of year can be stressful, so trick-or-treat your way on over to the Student Affairs and Community Engagement (SACE) event on October 27, and let us "treat" you with candy and cupcakes! SACE will be inside the Madison Plaza on Wednesday, October 27, 12:00 – 1:00 pmRSVP on Engage. 

5. 2021 Employee Service Recognition Program

You are cordially invited to join our virtual ceremony on Wednesday, November 17, at 11:00 am CST honoring employees with 5 – 50 years of service and dedication to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center! Registration is required to receive the Zoom information.
