1. Schedule Your FREE Flu Vaccine Today

University Health Services and the College of Pharmacy will be providing UTHSC employees and students with FREE flu vaccines on October 6–9 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm at the Student-Alumni Center (SAC) on the Memphis campus. Additional dates may be added depending on the supply of vaccines.

Flu vaccines are mandatory this year for all UT employees and students, unless you have documentation to support an exemption. Students must request a waiver from their college. If approved, the student submits the waiver to Verified Credentials and they will update the student's file.

To schedule an appointment, please call University Health Services at 901.448.5630. No walk-ins will be accepted. Appointments will be scheduled based on these dates:
  • October 6–7: Students only
  • October 8–9: Employees only


Verification of vaccine administration will be provided during the visit. Please retain a copy of this form for your records, as proof of administration will not be readily available.

2. UTHSC Night at the Drive-In

Join the Office of Student Affairs and Community Engagement for a night full of spoOoOoOoOky FUN at the Malco Summer Drive-In on Thursday, October 15th!

  • 6:00 pm: Guests may start arriving – USE LANE FOR SCREEN 3
  • 7:00 pm: Hotel Transylvania (PG)
  • 9:00 pm: The Ring (PG-13)
     

We have space for 150 cars, so RSVP today to reserve your spot! Students MUST socially distance – you may only share a car with those you live with. Feel free to bring spouses and children (guests must fit in 1 car with UTHSC student).

Stay for one or both movies! Snacks are available at the concessions stand for very reasonable prices.

3. Certificate in Telemedicine

The growing and vibrant telemedicine industry is a broad and emerging field that links patients, health care providers, and educators across the country via video and medical-information technology. Currently the trend is moving towards expanding the use of telemedicine.

This 9-credit hour certificate is offered online and can be completed within a minimum of two trimesters. The Certificate in Telemedicine Program at UTHSC is designed so its graduates will have the telemedicine skills and knowledge required to successfully enter the field and to serve as leaders, promoters, and marketers in the telemedicine industry.

4. Health Sciences Library: New Evidence-Based Health Care Learning Module

This short learning module will introduce you to the concept of evidence-based practice (EBP). Throughout the series you will discover how to build a searchable clinical question, tools for acquiring and assessing medical evidence or literature, and ways to apply and assess the EBP process in your own health care practice. You can complete the module and access other evidence-based health care resources online at libguides.uthsc.edu/ebh/module.
5. Voter Registration Deadline – October 5

The deadline to register to vote in order to participate in the November 3rd general election is October 5th in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi.
