Have you created a Housing Seeker Profile?

Take control of your housing situation by creating a seeker profile on the Housing Hub website. Once you’ve entered your details and home preferences for your profile, you’ll be notified when new property listings match your preferences.

Even if you are only in the early stages of your housing journey, creating a profile is a great way to show housing providers what type of housing you’re interested in.

Choose where you want to live

Deciding to move out of home for the first time can be a daunting conversation to have with your family. If you’re someone who relies on others for support, you might even be thinking, what happens if they say ‘no’?

This was the case for Rebecca when she told her family, “I’m thinking of moving to Melbourne.” A few months later, she moved out of her family home in Perth and is now living the dream in a High Physical Support apartment in Melbourne’s CBD.

In this great article, Rebecca shares that it is possible to choose where you want to live and who you want to be supported by.

Join us for a free session on achieving housing and support needs within a reimagined NDIS.

We’ll discuss how support coordinators, allied health professionals, hospital clinicians and other NDIS sector professionals can work with NDIS participants and their families to achieve their goals. You’ll hear from a panel of experts from the Housing Hub, UpSkill, and Hospital to Home.

How to write NDIS housing goals

Are you thinking about changing your housing goals for your NDIS plan? Perhaps you’re writing a housing goal for the first time?

When writing your NDIS housing goal, it’s important to be specific about:

Why you want to move out and where you want to move to
How many people you want to live with
The support model you want
Your specific preferences and needs e.g. location, number of bedrooms
