Welcome to the October edition of the Housing Hub News for Housing Providers!

In this final edition of Housing Hub news for 2021, we thought we’d take a moment to thank you, our community, for your support in 2021 and celebrate some of our achievements.

When we created the Housing Hub, you told us that you wanted an easy way to connect with housing seekers and a way to learn about the newly forming accessible housing market, including access market data.

Our team has worked hard this year to build the use of the Housing Hub with housing seekers and their supporters and this has seen our team talk to over 1,400 people on our SDA Advice Line and meet with over 1,700 people with disability, family members, support coordinators, health professionals, support workers and many others across our sector to connect and learn about housing options for people with disability through our events.

This work has resulted in significant growth in the use of the Housing Hub with more than 130,000 people using the website this year.

This year together, we have...

  • Seen over 7,200 properties listed to date with over 1,800 properties live now across all states and territories now

  • Seen over 137,000 searches for a new home

  • Generated over 26,000 enquires to housing providers from housing seekers over the Housing Hub

  • Delivered market data reports on the Supply of SDA, Housing Seeker data insights and Housing Hub Listing data

New Housing Seeker Snapshot

The second edition of our Housing Seeker Snapshot has been published today!

This report analyses six months of Housing Hub seeker data and provides valuable insights into the accessible housing market. A few interesting takeaways from this snapshot are that:
  • Almost half of all Housing Hub seekers would like to live alone.
  • Two-thirds of seekers reported that they wish to move immediately.
  • 38% of housing seekers indicated that they need 24-hour support at the property, while 28% of seekers did not require external support as they intend to bring their own support.
You can read the latest Housing Seeker Snapshot here.
