March 2021

Welcome to the first Scotinformer of 2021. As we emerge from three months of lockdown, school at home and continued restrictions we very much hope that this finds you safe and well. We might have been locked down but we have been busy! Read on for some of our latest news.

Age Scotland Research Published

Our qualitative research report for Age Scotland (with funding from the Scottish Government) was published last week. The research focussed on meeting housing needs as the population ages, and also examined the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on older participants. You can read the full report here

Focus On: Depth Interviews

The new year has seen us undertake a number of projects that require depth interviews. Whether we're working in the private, public or charitable sector there are some golden rules we always apply to make the process go smoothly. Read on for more details (and we dream about the day we can do face to face again!)

Scotinformer Stories

The Scotinformers have recently embarked on new ventures. Sheena was instrumental in establishing the Visitor Studies Group's Mentor Programme and has been working with her mentee for four months now. Helen has joined the board of Leith Theatre and is looking forward to working to develop this asset in her local neighbourhood, as well as attending online gigs. Both of us are looking forward to seeing our new projects in person!

Work in Progress

It's focus group season! We've been having a great time discussing future plans at National Museums Scotland, as well as speaking with teachers for Screen Scotland and domestic customers for Highland Fuels. Elsewhere we have used Mosaic Scotland, Omnibus surveys and quantitative research to inform supporter engagement at the Scottish Book Trust. Our engagement with National Heritage Lottery Fund projects continues, and we are currently undertaking audience research, community consultation and evaluation planning for clients in East Lothian, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
