Hello, friends! Yesterday I hosted a Thanksgiving gathering of 13 people. My mom, my sister, my niece, my brother-in-law, my ex-wife, my girlfriend, her four sons, my kids, and I all gathered together. I am big on the "if it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing" idea generally, but particularly when it comes to food. Despite having so many people (and sending away so many takeout dishes full of leftovers), I feel like I'm going to be eating Thanksgiving dinner until it's time for Christmas. But I love it.
Growing up, we were never super close with my extended family, so holidays tended to be smaller affairs. My ex's family is the opposite: the extended family gets together all of the time, so I really enjoyed being a part of those large family gatherings. I'm finding myself really enjoying hosting those big events, and I also enjoy the cooking. It works out pretty well, even if it can be rather stressful.
I hope however you spent the long weekend (if you had one), it lifted your spirits. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm about to go have another Thanksgiving dinner that couldn't be beat…
