Hello, friends! Allow me to share a lesson that I learned the other day: just because your phone is waterproof, that doesn't mean you should use it to shoot video underwater. Even if you've done it before. As a result, the video I took of my son showing off his new-found underwater flip skills is lost. (Unless I decide to shell out a thousand bucks or more to have it recovered. I don't think I love my kids that much.)

But it wasn't a bad trip overall. The weather cooperated for one of the two days we were there, and we ended up going on a nice, long hike. It was more rugged and longer than the kids were expecting, but they held up well. Having plenty of snacks and water helped. I'm glad that the weather is attempting to turn more hkeable. I've found that the peace and self-punishment of a strenuous hike is the best way for me to reset my brain.
