Hello, friends! I had planned to make the intro to this week's newsletter be my take on the Free Software Foundation. But as I wrote it, I decided it was more of a blog post. You can see that below.

My kids were on spring break this week, and for once the weather actually cooperated. On Friday it was a little chilly, so I built a fire and we sat around it eating dinner (see the Instagram picture of the week) and making s'mores. Saturday was idyllic, so we had lunch at a local park and played catch. When they were done with catch, we went to the playground where they played and I read. I decided on the spur of the moment to stop at our favorite ice cream store on the way home.

Now it's Saturday afternoon and I'm just biding my time a bit before it's time to make dinner. I'm sitting on the back deck enjoying the warms and the Gordon Lightfoot tunes coming from my neighbor's. After a long and draining week, it's nice to spend a little time just recharging. Later tonight I have things to do for my book and for SeaGL, but now—for this moment, at least—I'll just be.
