THIS SATURDAY: COUNTERPROTEST CLINIC HARASSERS IN BROOKLYN

Join our campaign to end clinic harassment in Brooklyn! This Saturday, we will return to Cobble Hill to counterprotest the Archdiocese of New York’s monthly “Witness for Life” at St. Paul & St. Agnes, led by Fidelis Moscinski—a clinic invader who regularly enters waiting rooms and refuses to leave “until the abortions stop.”

WE CELEBRATE ABORTION AND REFUSE SHAME: A counterprotest

Saturday, August 14 at 8 am
St. Paul & St. Agnes in Cobble Hill / 234 Congress St

🚨 St. Paul & St. Agnes is in Cobble Hill, a neighborhood that overwhelmingly votes Democrat. Do residents know that a rebirth of 1990s-era clinic violence has a home base in their backyard?

🚨 Texas is trying to put $10k bounties on the heads of people who help others have abortions

🚨 Ohio passed a law permitting medical professionals & insurance providers the right to deny abortions, birth control, & trans-affirming health care to LGBTQ people and women, in the name of religious freedom

🚨 We need to understand that the time is NOW and the place is WHEREVER YOU ARE

When we counterprotest, we celebrate abortion and refuse shame 🌸💚 and we delay their arrival at the clinic, which means more patients get inside the door without having to endure crusty shame patriarchs 🌸💚 we’ll have water, snacks, good energy 🌸💚 spread the word and see you there 🌸💚
We notice that our counterprotests have drawn more than the usual amount of attention—from supporters in the neighborhood and online, but also from the right, and from the Archdiocese of New York itself.

A few days before our last action at St. Paul & St. Agnes, a National Review writer and a member of the Archdiocese's "Pro-Life Commission" became kind of obsessed with us:
A few themes:
  • Fidelis Moscinski hasn't invaded clinics in New York, he's just made it his life's work to invade clinics elsewhere, sooo what's the issue

  • Abortion = scary violence, which "NYCFAR wants more girls and women experiencing alone in their apartments by pill" (women alone, in their apartments, quelle horror)

  • Antis like Fidelis are simply offering another option to scared young girls (who are too hapless and naive to know that churches with strings-attached charity exist? Or that simply continuing to gestate is "an option" rather than, near the end of this country's forty-year campaign to cut off abortion access for working-class people, the hegemonic default? I guess?)

  • NYC for Abortion Rights is another example of "the darkness that is strangling New York City" (the solution to which can only be more billions for the NYPD)

Anyway, it's nice to know that the Archdiocese notices our actions and absolutely hates them. See you on Saturday! 💚

NYC for Abortion Rights is a group of socialist feminists who believe that we need an unapologetic grassroots movement for free abortion on demand, no economic, racial, or gendered barriers to access, no apologies, & the right and resources to raise children in a healthy environment.
