Far-right groups target London anti-racism protests

  • In an attempt to distance themselves from the violent protests, UK Black Lives Matter officially distanced itself from the protest that it had planned in central London

Over 42k pounds of beef possibly contaminated with e.coli

  • A U.S. nationwide recall of about 42,922 pounds of ground beef was announced Saturday due to e.coli contamination
  • The e.coli strain found in the beef was O157: H7, one of the deadliest for humans
  • The USDA classified the recall as “Class 1,” the highest risk classification for a health hazard

Sony reveals PlayStation 5

  • Sony has revealed the long-awaited PlayStation 5, showing the design of the console, as well as the list of the 26 games that will release alongside it
  • Consumers were met with surprise after it was stated that the PS5 console will stand at over a foot tall
  • Sony is expected to give further detailing of the console in a future Livestream presentation, though the date of this is still unknown

Robert Fuller’s family disputes suicide claim

  • Robert Fuller, an African-American man, was found hanging from a tree in Palmdale, California earlier this week in what could be another instance of a racial killing
  • Protesters took to the streets demanding a thorough investigation into Fuller’s death after the city initial claim that it was suicide
  • Fuller’s family has asked the Attorney General to once more review their loved one’s death

SPORTS 🏀

Group of NBA players may refuse to play

  • A group of NBA players led by all-star Kyrie Irving is reportedly threatening to sit out the restarting of the NBA season due to civil unrest in the U.S.
  • The coalition was formed and presented to NBA officials over a phone call. The group of players reportedly includes stars such as Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, and Donovan Mitchell
  • Carmelo Anthony states that those involved want a unifying voice that includes younger players
