  • Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will lie in state at the US Capitol building on Friday making her the first woman to receive the honor
  • The rare distinction, which has not been granted since the death of William Howard Taft, was announced by Speaker Pelosi
  • Justice Ginsburg will also lie in repose at the Supreme Court for two days with her coffin being placed under the portico at the top of the building’s front steps to allow for proper social distancing


China releases details on its blacklist

  • China’s Ministry of Commerce has released provisions on its “unreliable entity list”
  • The release comes after the US Commerce Department announced the ban of US transactions using WeChat and TikTok, two apps operated by Chinese technology companies
  • An entity added to the list could face restrictions or prohibitions on China-related trade, investment in China, and travel or work permits

Microsoft buys Bethesda in $7.5 billion deal

  • Microsoft has announced that it will acquire ZeniMax Media for $7.5 billion
  • ZeniMax Media owns video game publisher Bethesda and gives Microsoft access to successful franchises such as Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, and Doom
  • The acquisition marks Microsoft’s biggest gaming acquisition following the $2.5 billion deal for Minecraft developer Mojang in 2014


U.S. CDC takes down coronavirus airborne transmission guidance

  • The US CDC removed its guidance warning on possible airborne transmission of Covid-19 claiming that the draft recommendation was posted in error
  • The removed guidance, which was posted on the agency’s website, recommended that people use air purifiers to reduce airborne germs indoors
  • The agency had claimed that Covid-19 could spread through airborne particles that can stay in the air and travel six feet or more
