  • The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted the company a permit to obtain a new system that will provide users with a warning that will display a time when the iPhone’s battery will run out
  • Apple states that a notification will display on the device if it indicates a high probability that the user will be unable to continue using their phone until the next high probability charge time
  • If this state of charge information recognizes that the user will not make it to their next high probability charge time, the new feature will provide reminders to plug in the phone or MacBook at a specific time that will accommodate to the individual’s time period of usage

State of California prepares to reopen    

  • California Governor Gavin Newsom announced the state’s economy to open back up on June 15th, with the ability to attend events like sports games and concerts following close behind
  • The Governor addressed that this resuming will only occur if the vaccine supply for Californians 16 years or older is sufficient and if hospitalization rates remain stable and low
  • The state additionally announced that a majority of capacity limits will be lifted, yet these large-scale events may still require prior testing or vaccine verification to participate

SCIENCE 🧬

Fossil discovery reveals information on the “Snakefly”

  • Four of these new ancient insect species have been discovered in the state of Washington and the British Columbia by paleontologists Bruce Archibald and Vladimir Makarkin
  • “Snakeflies” have been classified as a slender, predatory insect and are native to the Northern Hemisphere
  • Research has indicated that cold environments are crucial in order to trigger the insects’ adult development. However, the fossil sites where these species were recently found refutes this explanation, as the yearly climates in Vancouver and Washington were reported to be mild
