Data Pitch appoints artist in residence

We at Data Pitch are delighted to announce the appointment of an artist-in-residence, Moscow and Berlin-based Egor Kraft.

The partnership came about via the STARTS residency programme, where artists work with organisations to produce an original artwork which represents their approach to technology.

We wanted to bring the concept of data-driven innovation to a wider audience through the medium of the arts, helping to ‘entertain as well as inform’ with data.

Over the next months, Egor will be working on a project which looks into the potential of AI to reconstruct and generate lost antique Greek and Roman friezes and sculptures using algorithms.

Good news for Statice

Photo: Sebastian Weyer, Co-Founder, Statice

We are delighted that German data anonymisation company Statice, one of the startups in the new Data Pitch cohort, has been awarded seven-figure financing from Capnamic Ventures and WestTech Ventures Berlin.

Statice offers companies software which allows them to process and analyse sensitive personal data securely, in compliance with data protection regulations.  The announcement comes as the Berlin-based venture begins its journey with Data Pitch after successfully pitching an idea for our Privacy and Consent Control challenge.

Ryan Goodman, Data Pitch Programme Manager, says, “We want to congratulate Statice on securing such a significant investment. The company is currently working with our accelerator programme to develop its solution to guarantee data anonymisation and we are very much looking forward to working together.”
