New startups meet new challenges as Data Pitch launches its second accelerator

We had a brilliant time introducing our new cohort of companies at the Data Pitch launch event recently. There are 29 new startups beginning the second accelerator programme this month, bringing the total number of Data Pitch companies to 47, each receiving up to €100K equity-free funding, expert mentoring, investment opportunities, and access to data from established businesses and the public sector.

The companies pitched their proposals for the first time at our launch event held at Google for Startups Campus in London. Ideas included technology that uses biosignals and machine learning to detect and monitor cardiac conditions, a startup that uses data to inform energy strategy, and a central hub making it easier for consumers to discover TV content that they love.

We will be updating you on their progress over the next six months. In the meantime you can read more about them on our website.

You can also find out more by checking out the media coverage that  some of our startups Verge Capital, Luna Connect, UTelly and Heptasense have achieved, or read more about the launch event in IoT Now.

Meet our startups
 Lessons learnt

As we move into the final year of Data Pitch we are keen to share the lessons we have learnt along the way. The programme’s intention was to create an innovation ecosystem for Europe where larger, more established organisations can work closely with agile startups to innovate and learn from each other. The success of our first cohort of startups, which graduated in July 2018 and has so far generated over €6 million of value in sales, investments and efficiencies, is a testament to the programme’s success in creating powerful new data-enabled business models, but we want to further explore the barriers, opportunities and recommendations.

Data Innovation Spaces

The BDVA i-Spaces group has launched the call for Data Innovation Spaces labelling 2019.

Can you help?

We are looking for mentors to join Data Pitch and help our startups achieve their goals.  We have a network of partners in place who offer support across a range of areas, but we are still seeking experts in sales and marketing (especially in the healthcare, smart manufacturing and finance sectors), data visualisation and UX/UI Design and international expansion.

Mentors can play a key role in helping our companies develop and commercialise their ideas successfully, and sessions can be organised to suit your availability and commitments.

Please email info@datapitch.eu if you think that you can help.
