Sunday Service and this Week's Devotionals
The Power of Your Choice

This week during our 11 AM online service, we are celebrating our annual Next Generation Sunday, the day we recognize and promote our Vineyard kids moving up from elementary to middle school and middle school to high school.  Youth Pastor Johnny Mendoza will bring the message:  "The Power of Your Choice."  Children's Pastor Donna Tucker will also come up to promote the elementary kids.  What a blessing Pastor Johnny and his team and Pastor Donna are.  We hope you'll join us.

Our kids also have an online Sunday service of their own at 10 AM on Facebook and YouTube, and we have a Youth Live service at 11 AM on Sundays on Instagram under awaken_vineyard..

Continuing on the theme of "Promise Keeper -- Our Faithful God," be with us Monday through Friday, August 3-7, at 9 AM, for our Daily Devotionals. We hope that you can take advantage of hearing and meditating on the Word of God daily.

Sunday, August 2, 7 PM
Twilight Parking Lot Worship Service

What a joy it was to be together a few Sundays ago for a live church service.  We have been praying and working out details for a way we can meet to worship together safely and comply at the same time with current CDC directives.  We’re excited to invite you to our Twilight Parking Lot Worship Service, Sunday, August 2, at 7 PM.  Due to the complexities of parking and seating, please arrive by 6:45 PM. We will have a team in the parking lot to direct you to park and then to where we are sitting.  Please wear your mask and bring your own chairs or thick blanket (although the asphalt may still be hot).  Individuals or families should place their chairs six feet apart.  As excited as we will be to see each other again, please do not greet each other with handshakes or hugs. We want to respect everyone’s conscience and health by maintaining six feet of distance.  Please use the restroom at home before joining us.

If you are, or have recently been, in close contact with anyone displaying the signs/symptoms of illness (including, but not limited to fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat), please stay home.  If you feel uncomfortable/unsafe, please do not feel compelled to come. We honor one another and do not wish to cause anyone to stumble in this area.  If you, or someone you live with is “high risk,” we would encourage you to stay home at this time.

Finally, please remember that this is a fluid situation and it may be necessary to cancel in the advent of rain or any other circumstance.

Vineyard News from Pastor Jimmy
In this fluid and ever-changing atmosphere, we want to keep you up-to-date on the latest Covid 19 news as it impacts our church and gatherings, our new upcoming sermon series, and what we can do individually and corporately as a church family to "experience individual revival and revival as a church body so that His presence and power would spill over into the valley..."  Click here to read Pastor Jimmy's letter.

Jubilee Tutoring Center Backpack Giveaway
Saturday, August 8th, 10 AM to 1 PM

It's time for Jubilee Tutoring Center's annual Backpack Giveaway!  This year, we will bless the community with a Drive-Through Backpack Giveaway in our main parking lot.  We will need volunteers, but not as much physical help this year because Ian Liu will be organizing the team and getting his Boy Scout troop to help out for his boy Scout Eagle Project!
What we need from you this year is prayer!  Please begin praying for all the families and kids that will be coming through to receive a backpack and supplies.

We intend to give 150 backpacks away this year!

Would you take the time and write out a short blessing on a 3×5 index card to place in the backpack?   Or ...  write a few.  We need 150!!

Here's an example:
God loves you so much!  I hope this school year is a great one for you!  Love, (your first name)
These cards can be dropped off in the office during church business hours or mailed in, attention Jubilee.

"Experiencing God" Class on Zoom
Wednesdays, 7-9 PM, Aug 19 to Nov 11

Deadline to register, Friday, August 14

This is a season when it might be good to reevaluate where we stand with the Lord. Perhaps we need to reconnect to Him and who is He calling us to be. But how do we hear His voice amid so many others during this time? "Experiencing God" is a tool God can use to help us hear His voice and align us to His will and purpose, and to live a radically God-centered way life.  Join us for our “Experiencing God” class on Zoom, 13 Wednesdays, August 19 through November 11, from 7 to 9 PM.
Learn how to:

  •     know when He is speaking to you
  •     recognize His activity around you
  •     adjust your life to Him and His ways
  •     identify what He wants to do through you
  •     respond to His activity in your life

Deadline to sign up for the class is Friday, August 14

We’ve setup a Helping Hand Fund to help those in our church community that are struggling through this pandemic and to help fund our outreach of extending the love of God to our neighbors.  If you feel led to contribute to this new fund, please do so above and beyond your regular tithes and offerings.  In Zelle, by text, on our app, or on our website, you can add a note for this ministry.  If you're writing a check, you can write Helping Hand Fund in the memo.
