Sunday Service and this Week's Devotionals
Standing in the Gap-
Kingdom Hope in Divided Times

We are living in deeply divided and polarizing times.  Culture is battling between extremes and the Church has been sucked into believing that we have to choose a side.  As a Kingdom people, we are called to influence, love, and pray for others.  We need to stand in the gap in the midst of so much hostility and look at contentious topics through the lens of the Word of God and exhibit a kingdom mindset that is above all political and cultural paradigms.  It is time for the Church to take its rightful place in proclaiming and demonstrating our allegiance to the Kingdom that has no end and is the answer, the hope for all of this world’s problems.

We invite you to join us this week during our 11 AM online live service as we continue our new sermon series, "Standing in the Gap- Kingdom Hope in Divided Times." This week's sermon is on the topic, "Standing in the Gap of the Justice Divide."

Our kids also have an online Sunday service of their own at 10 AM on Facebook and YouTube.

Our Daily Devotionals
Digging the Bible--Finding Buried Treasure

Join us on Facebook and YouTube for our daily devotionals, Monday through Friday, at 9 AM.  You can tune in then or find it later in the day, week, or previous weeks.  Heretofore, our devotionals and our weekly sermon have had the same theme, but we've decided to go deeper and take a new approach with our current devotional series, "Digging the Bible--Finding Buried Treasure," for a 9-week series (starting last week) that covers these topics:

  • Sep 28-Oct 2, Legal/Promissory Scripture:  The Covenants
  • Oct 5-9, Wisdom Literature:  Wisdom Writings
  • Oct 12-16, Kingdom Parables:  The Counter-Intuitive Parables
  • Oct 19-23, Lesser Known Old Testament Histories of the Kings
  • Oct 26-30, Devotional Poetry:  the poems of Israel
  • Nov 2-6, The Epistles:  Teachings for the Christian Life
  • Nov 9-13, The Teachings of Jesus:  the Kingdom of God and the Role of Kingdom People
  • Nov 16-20, The Model of Jesus:  Modeling the Christian Life
  • Nov 23-27, Thankfulness:  Scriptures that Speak of Gratefulness and Personal Testimonies of Redemption

We hope that you can take advantage of hearing and meditating on the Word of God daily with this deeper look into the treasure that is the Bible.

Twilight Parking Lot Worship Service

We will gather to worship and we are going through a sermon series on Getting out of the Boat and Living a Life of Faith.  We are using the story of Peter walking on water to inspire us to do things that we cannot do on our own.  God wants us to have God-sized experiences as we seek Him and are called to join Him in doing the impossible.

Wear your mask and bring your own chairs. Individuals or families should place their chairs six feet apart from other congregants. Please remember that this is a fluid situation and it may be necessary to cancel in the advent of rain or any other circumstance.

We will update you Sunday morning with lyrics for the evening and any new news about our parking lot service here:

Fall Outreach Harvest Drive In Theater!

We're doing something new!  This year we are offering a Harvest Drive In Theater experience on Saturday, October 24, 6:30-8:30 PM! This is a FREE Community Event so please invite your family and friends! Join us for a fun filled evening where you don’t even have to get out of your car.  We are going to watch the Disney Pixar movie Coco!  We will have a costume contest and prizes.  Each person in each car will receive prepackaged popcorn, candy, and a family movie guide with discussion questions connecting the movie with the Gospel.  We do need a few volunteers and also need people to donate candy.  Please email for more info.

Special note: It is possible you may arrive and find that the parking lot is full.  You are welcome to pack lawn chairs or blankets for front row outdoor seating.  You can street park and walk in down the alley.  Whether in your car or on foot, remember your mask and social distancing.

Jubilee Holiday News
Christmas in October?

Yes!  Jubilee, our afterschool mentoring program, is gearing up for Christmas.  The kids are working hard to earn their Jubilee coins.  They get to shop at our Jubilee Christmas store with their coins for presents for their parents, siblings, each other, and others who matter in their lives.   We need help to get toys, gifts for grown-ups, and wrapping supplies to have the students experience an awesome Christmas store this year.  Wrapping supplies include these:

  • gift wrap
  • gift bags
  • tissue paper
  • bows
  • ribbon
  • boxes, large and small
  • tape

You can drop these things off at the church during office hours Tuesday-Friday, from 10 AM-3 PM.

Most importantly, we need your prayers.

We are also looking for people to help sponsor four new students by praying for them and donating $30 a month for their sponsorship.  For more information, please contact Jacqueline Mendoza at

Election News You Can Use
And so can our community.  We look forward to serving our community and church family by opening up a voting center in our Fellowship Hall.  As of the last election, the rules for voting changed to include more voting days and the option to vote at a polling center of your choice.  The polling place at the Vineyard will be available between these dates and hours:

  • October 30 and November 2, from 10 AM to 7 PM
  • November 3, from 7 AM to 8 PM

Please note:  We do not have the ability to accept ballots before the dates we are open.  We are not an early drop off center.
