The Southern Startup Report is a twice-monthly, curated newsletter covering the latest tech startup happenings in the American Southeast. It is produced by LookFar, a New Orleans-based software development studio.
I originally became aware of LookFar when I was nominated for their 2nd annual Ada Lovelace Awards, back in 2016. It was an honor to be nominated alongside so many other amazing local women working in tech fields.

When I joined LookFar as Director of Marketing in 2017, I spent my first few months organizing the 3rd annual Ada Lovelace Awards, which we expanded to recognize women in 6 Southern states: Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Texas.

I’m pleased to announce that nominations are now open for LookFar’s 4th annual Ada Lovelace Awards.

The event, which celebrates the women who have made the biggest impact in the regional tech community, will take place on March 26 as part of New Orleans Entrepreneur Week and coinciding with Women’s History Month. This year, the awards will recognize six distinct categories: Software Engineer, Tech Founder, Product Manager, UI/UX Designer, Digital Marketer, and STEM Educator.

If you know a talented woman in tech who fits this description, I urge you to nominate her today. Nominations close on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 6pm CST.
Nominate a woman in tech for the Ada Lovelace Awards!
