Tabernacle Baptist Church
Pastor: Rev. Gary Watson
Founded in 1941
Joined Three Forks Association in 1942

The church had a great Vacation Bible School. Though the Lord has taken several saints home this year, there have been several new families added to the church. Pastor Gary is praising the Lord for how he is seeing God work in families in their community.

They are excited for their annual Homecoming Celebration on August 14, and are also looking forward to another baptism!

Pray for Tabernacle as they minister to their community and work together for the kingdom!
Words from Wesley....

July 25, 2022

I love hearing how God is working in our area! I was so thankful for the pastor who came by last week to brag on what God was doing in their community. How is God at work in your community? Maybe not directly connected to your church but are you hearing stories of lives being changed by the gospel?

In “Experiencing God,” by Henry Blackaby, we learn that God is always at work around us. We just need to seek Him and join Him in His work. We do not need to try and create the work of God. We can’t! He is God! In one of the more recent books by the Blackaby’s, “Flickering Lamps: Christ and His Church,”  Richard makes this statement, “God is under no obligation to finance your plans for his kingdom. However, he has the resources of heaven and earth at his disposal for his plans.”

God does not need anything to accomplish his plan, however His desire and design is for His church to reveal his manifold wisdom. (Ephesians 3:10) My constant prayer is that we will seek the Lord, surrender to Him and His will, and be on mission together where he is at work.

If you would like more information on either of those resources, please let me know. I’d be glad to help you or even lead one of them for you.

Please be praying about the upcoming school year. App Students will be returning to campus in just a couple of weeks. Some are already moving back into town. The Back to School Festival is just around the corner. I pray that you and your church are partnering with your local school to minister to students, families and staff.

'For every beast of the forest is mine, And the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains: And the wild beasts of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: For the world is mine, and the fulness thereof. '

Psalm 50:10-12

'to the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, '

Ephesians 3:10

Baptist on Mission "Least of These" Soup Kitchen Update:

Did you ever wonder what the face of hunger looks like? For many in a Roma camp it starts at a young age and continues throughout their life. The soup kitchen you help sponsor in the Transcarpathia region of western Ukraine through Baptist on Mission continues providing hot meals to150 children and employment for several women who help with the cooking. Due to the ongoing war with Russia and increasing food shortages, they have also started serving meals to the elderly.

It might seem like a small impact but for these precious little ones, the nourishment they receive, even from one meal a day can make a huge difference in their lives. Thank you for loving people 7000 kilometers away with your kindness, thank you for offering relief for today and hope for tomorrow.

Celebrating Two Centuries of Sacred Song in the High Country

The Town of Boone, in partnership with the Southern Appalachian Historical Association, is sponsoring an inspirational community music event in honor of the town’s 150th anniversary.  This will be held in the amphitheater of Horn in the West, the historic outdoor drama celebrating its 70th season this year.

Several local choirs and other music groups are invited to collaborate in this event - a unique opportunity to highlight local churches representing worship styles of our region from past to present.

We have been discussing the idea of forming a combined choir from the churches of the Three Forks Baptist Association.  This would allow individuals and small choirs to participate in this event as a larger group, representing the Association’s heritage and its historic role in our community.

For Association churches interested in participating in this event, please see details below:

• Event: Community sacred music concert, hosted by the Town of Boone and Southern Appalachian Historical Association in honor of Boone’s 150th anniversary

• Plan: A joint choir from multiple Three Forks Association churches

Date: August 20, 2022

• Location: Horn in the West Amphitheater,

591 Horn in the West Drive Boone, NC
