Finally! We can get back to church
As the situation around COVID-19 continues to improve in BC, we are finally ready to have church services in-person again starting THIS Sunday (July 5th)
Here are the details:
-Outdoor services (bring a lawnchair or blanket to sit on)
-10am Sundays for the summer (then indoors after Labour Day)
-Weather dependent (moving indoors is not an option at this time)
-Physical distancing (6ft/2m) will have to be maintained at all times between individuals/family groups
-No communion (Morning Prayer service only)
-The washroom in the church will be closed except for emergencies
-No singing (still too risky)
-Masks are encouraged
If you plan on attending, please RSVP with your name and contact information by replying to this email or calling the church office (604-299-6816). This will allow us to contact you if we have to cancel a service (and gives us your information to keep on file in the event of an outbreak).
Coffee Hour will follow the service; we will continue to have a Zoom Coffee Hour bi-weekly (we know that not everyone will be able to join us in person) alternating with a Tail-Gate Coffee Hour (bring a thermos for your coffee/tea and your own snacks. No sharing!) from our cars in the parking lot (starting July 12).
As before, please stay home if you are feeling ill or have been directed to self-isolate.
We will continue to email out the suggested order of service, complete with video sermon each week, so that as many people as possible can participate with our weekly worship.
Thank you all for your patience. I look forward to seeing many of you in the great outdoors this Sunday, and, eventually, back in the church building when it is safe to do so.
In the meantime, please don't hesitate to contact me with questions, comments, or concerns. We're all just figuring things out as we navigate this new reality, so there will be more challenges ahead. But if we stick together, we can make the transition as pleasant as possible.
Thinking of and praying for you all,
