Springtime means ice cream breaks!

Every week, after school, students from Moravian Falls meet twice-a-week at Escuelita located in the Country Square neighborhood. Homework is completed, cursive is perfected, and relationships are built. After homework is completed, students are allowed to explore their imaginations with painting, playing with Legos, building new toys and playing outside. This week, after homework they were delivered a special treat! DanCIS teacher, Erin Southwell, arrived with ice cream for all the kiddos to enjoy.

Uwe and Sally Ehrlich are lunch buddies at Moravian Falls (and Uwe is a lunch buddy at Mountainview Elementary, too!). Their passion for students in Wilkes County is truly genuine and indisputable. We are incredibly grateful to have a couple this committed to CIS of NWNC. Uwe and Sally are #ALLINFORKIDS.
What Do New Century Scholars students do on a day off from school? GIVE BACK!
On March 19th, students in Wilkes County had the day off from school for a teacher workday. NCS Coordinator, Vickie Call, scheduled a day of giving back by volunteering at Samaritan's Kitchen. 6 students helped open packs of Lance Crackers, Lil Debbies, and breakfast bars, then packed them into boxes to be used for packing the backpack program bags later in the week. Roy from Samaritan's Kitchen was very pleased with the work the NCS students accomplished.
CIS Site Coordinators just finished reading The 55 Essentials: An Award-Winning Educator's Rules for Discovering the Successful Student in Every Child by Ron Clark. Rule 51 stood out (no pun intended) to our Site Coordinators as something that embodied the essence of the passion a site coordinator is required to uphold in order to be successful. So much so, they wanted it to be shared with our stakeholders to let you know the strict standards they hold themselves to every day in their schools.
