DanCIS is a free dance program offered by Communities In Schools to 3rd-12th grade students throughout Wilkes County. Every Monday the students come to the CIS dance room and learn ballet from the talented dance instructor, Erin Southwell. Erin's talent doesn't end with dance, check out this beautiful video put together by Mrs. Southwell herself. We are so grateful to have a committed volunteer like Erin. Her passion for the program and the students has surpassed all of our expectations.

SFP is an evidence-based family skills training program found to significantly improve parenting skills and family relationships, reduce problem behaviors, delinquency and alcohol and drug abuse in children and to improve social competencies and school performance. CIS offers Strengthening Families in Alexander County. On December 14th, the first class of four students and four parents graduated from the program.
