Hello St. Peter’s Family,
We have once again been given direction by the Diocese to close in-person worship at St. Peter’s. While we have all loved being able to get together for Morning Prayer, I agree that the safety of the congregation is paramount.
In his address, Bishop Price stressed that it was time to take extreme safety measures for ourselves and others, in the midst of a still-growing major crisis.
Following the prediction of medical experts at both the federal and state level, he is asking all congregations in Ohio to suspend all in-person worship effective immediately, if they have not done so already.
This will continue until further notice, but, he added that essential ministries such as our Loaves and Fishes meal could continue with proper safety measures taken.

I’d like to take a moment and give you a quick roundup of what we have been able to accomplish at St. Peter’s this year.
Christina has been in the office on a regular basis, navigating communication with the congregation and the Diocese, and keeping in-person worship, meetings and blood drives going when possible. Bill has done a great job with the regular and deep cleaning of the church, allowing us the worship and stay within the Diocese guidelines.  Your Junior Warden, Jennell, has worked tirelessly repairing and improving the building, and I can’t wait for you all to see it when we can finally get together again safely. Your treasurer, Caroline, has nervously watched the stock market and our bank accounts, making sure that we meet our financial obligations to the Diocese, while still being able to keep the lights on. Loaves and Fishes has continued, albeit in a new format, but continues to be a successful and appreciated mission. Also, the search for a priest continues, although sometimes it feels painfully slow.
Each of your vestry members has spent many hours working to make decisions on your behalf, and for the good of the church.
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to do a proper pledge drive this year, but please remember that your pledges are needed now more than ever.

A Final Word...

I truly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during these troubling and confusing times.
I also want to thank the staff and vestry members for all of their hard work and continuing support of our mission at St. Peter’s.
It has been a trying year, but they have borne the obstacles thrown our way with grace and tenacity.
It has been a difficult year to be Senior Warden. I feel like I have personally lost touch with many of you, but know that you have all been on my mind. I pray that 2021 brings better news, and fuller pews, for us all.

Yours in Peace and Love,
Melissa Blank
Senior Warden

May peace and all goodness abound,
Melissa
