DETAILS:
How we understand racism and white privilege matters because it affects how we fight them. But what are racism and white privilege? How are they connected to capitalism? What does this mean for how we should struggle against them?

Join us for a discussion introduced by brief presentations by:

Jill Sutherland,
David Camfield and
Teddy Zegeye-Gebrehiwot

This event is open to anyone who affirms that Black Lives Matter and is committed to the struggle against racism and for social justice for all.

We encourage participants to read this article in advance: “White Purity” by Asad Haider and to think about the idea in this screenshot from @muna_mire's twitter:

image description: screenshot from Muna Mire's twitter. It reads as follows: "Solidarity > Allyship. The former implies our liberation is bound up in one another's fate. the latter is, as @ztsamudzi points out, the powerful "helping out" the marginalized. It's charity. And we don't need charity. We need solidarity to get free."

ZOOM INFO:
Zoom information will be sent to registrants on the day of the event.

Anyone who is disruptive or whose intention is clearly not to contribute to learning together will be removed.
