Say NO to war with Iran RALLY
This Saturday, Jan. 11 @ NOON

Click here to check out the facebook event page for the rally.

Organizers in Winnipeg are calling for a protest outside the U.S. Consulate in response to the January 3rd 2020 US drone strike that killed Qasam Soleimani, an Iranian General, and others near the Baghdad Airport in Iraq.

Solidarity Winnipeg is not organizing this event but hopes for a huge mobilization with a clear anti-war message.

Also, stay tuned: In the next few days there will be a public event for people to make signs to bring to the rally.  We will post details on Solidarity Winnipeg's facebook page when they become available.

We encourage people to create signs with slogans like these:
*No war on Iran!
*US and Canadian troops out of the Middle East!
*Support the uprisings in Iraq and Iran for democracy and social justice!

This is the first rally, however....

We believe that if the US starts an all-out war on Iran an emergency rally should take place that same day at 5PM at the US Consulate. If a war begins after 5PM in Winnipeg the emergency rally should take place the next day at 5PM. This call was issued by the January 4 anti-war rally in Toronto and is being echoed elsewhere.

Picture of Iranian graphic Novelist, Marjane Satrapi, with the following quotation "The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same.
