EU Monitoring:
Smart technologies for smart logistics

In this report, EUEW analyzes how smart technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) learning can support smart logistics, as key benefits for electrical wholesalers. The report also focuses on EU forecasts for upcoming changes for businesses.

The European Commission said that “the EU's research & innovation (R&I) programs have steadily supported the development of technologies and solutions that enable the European manufacturing sector to take full advantage of digital opportunities; many projects are financed by the Factories of the Future Public-Private Partnership, and they cover areas such as digital automation, process optimization of manufacturing assets, simulation and analytics technologies and ICT innovation for manufacturing SMEs.”

Also, under the Horizon 2020 program, logistics-related research concentrates on increasing the efficiency and sustainability of the logistics supply chain.

This May 2019 at the Brussels General Convention, Mr. Liedtke will proudly pass on the baton of EUEW’s leadership to Mr. Alexander Dewulf, CEO of Cebeo & Sonepar Belgium.

Under Mr Liedtke’s leadership over the past two years, the EUEW has grown from strength to strength.
