"True prayer lightens the heart." What emerges as a beguiling piece of storytelling for family audiences, Mary Zimmerman’s The Arabian Nights retains the classic legend in which Scheherazade delays death by telling a nightly tale to a murderous king. She also proves the power of the cliffhanger, either by leaving her hearer in suspense, or artfully allowing one story to fold into the next. In this world, the coarse and the miraculous coexist, and the magic of storytelling holds the power to change people. "If you want theatre at its most unpretentiously poetic, most fetchingly stylish, as humane as it is elegant, I commend to you The Arabian Nights." (New York Magazine)

Tickets will be made available closer to the December performances at The Haid. Patrons are encouraged to support the performances at the high school as well.

Also, save the dates for the third year of The Abbey Players' collaboration with Elements of Empowerment's Jazz Concert Series. These extremely accomplished musicians provide extraordinary concerts for all to enjoy.
