Dear friends and colleagues,

Last month, we were outraged and distressed to hear comments made by Jimmy Carr in a performance shared by Netflix which mocked and trivialised the genocide of Roma and Sinti people during the Holocaust. To joke that the slaughter of over half a million people could be seen as a 'positive' is disgusting, and an insult to individuals who survived and to those who mourn the memory of Roma and Sinti ancestors.

It is a sad reality, that war remains an ever present reality for so many - we particularly extend our solidarity to Roma and non-Roma in Ukraine, fearing for their safety. For Roma people in Ukraine, the tragedies of war revives old trauma. It is with great anxiety, we watch the timelines of our Roma cousins, hoping they continue to avoid the crossfire.

Help Roma people to access food, safety and support by donating here.

Warmest wishes,
Sarah Mann

The participants will now have the knowledge and credibility to deliver health messages to their family and peers, signpost peers to local health facilities and support friends and family to make healthier lifestyle choices."
