Thanks to the volunteers (not Parks Dept.) who cleaned up the trash- and the area around the dumpster behind the gym!

For 15 years Friends of Peachtree Hills Park volunteers have helped maintain the park. We pick up trash and recently filled a sink hole near the playground after trying for weeks to get the City to do it. The area behind the gym has become a trash dumping site and has been reported many times to the Parks Department. They don't know who's dumping because the security cameras don't work. We began asking that the cameras get fixed two years ago. Sports league companies (who charge teams ~ $1,000) use the park several times a week. When we sent pics of the trash they leave throughout the park- their response was- "not our responsibility". Thanks to all of you who contacted Parks Director Doug Voss, but since he hasn't responded, you may want to ask Atlanta Parks and Recreation Commissioner John Dargle to help. 404.546.7973. Ask him to:
  • Deliver additional trash cans to the park
  • Require that companies using the park provide porta-potties or pay to have the restrooms open so guys quit peeing in the bushes
  • Fix the security cameras
