Growing Greener through Innovation and Community

April, 2022

Our Northern Sustainable Supply Hub is taking off, and the Alex Fraser projects team have our newest asphalt plant well underway. It’s exciting to see a steady flow of new equipment arriving on site as the plant begins to take shape.

There’s been great interest in the innovation behind another green build in Melbourne’s south-east. Victoria’s Mordialloc Freeway used almost a quarter of a million tonnes of recycled material. An article by Roads and Infrastructure’s Tom O’Keane looks into the innovation behind the construction of what’s said to be Australia’s Greenest Freeway.

We’re excited to open our doors to the latest recruits of our Trainee Driver Program, on May 2. This is another Hanson and Alex Fraser collaboration that has successfully improved employment pathways for people new to the construction industry.  This next intake will see 12 women from all walks of life, join us and undertake an intensive five-week training and immersion program, before testing for their HR or HC truck licence, and kick-starting a full-time career behind the wheel of Hanson agis and Alex Fraser tippers. You’ll get an insight into the program and the impact it’s had on the participants who’ve been part of it in the video below.

Our Queensland Recycling team were proud to represent us at the 17th Dance for Daniel; an annual charity event to raise funds for the Daniel Morcombe Foundation and build awareness about what communities and businesses can do to support child protection. We are grateful for the important work the Daniel Morcrombe Foundation does, and proud to support a cause so close to the hearts of our Queensland community.
