April News from Coos Sand 'N Sea Quilters

Note From our President

Happy day my quilting friends. We have extended the featured quilter and  SARA Nominations for one more month.  So those of you that missed the Form in last month's newsletter have an opportunity.

So don't forget to work on your UFOs & Brown Bag projects.

Spring has sprung.

President Melinda

Due to many members not seeing the nomination ballots for SARA and Featured Quilter in the March newsletter, the monthly Timeline for each of these categories has been extended by one month so members have an opportunity to submit names for these positions.  The April meeting will be the final opportunity for the nominations for SARA and Featured Quilter. If unable to attend the meeting, mail in ballots must be received (2)TWO DAYS prior to the general meeting (April 5th).  Ballots will be counted and nominees will be determined at the April board meeting.

Featured Quilter nominees will be contacted and asked to bring quilts for display at the May meeting.  Voting ballots for Featured Quilter will be in the June Newsletter and must be turned in at the June meeting.  Voting ballots for SARA will be in the May Newsletter and turned in by the May meeting.  New Featured Quilter and SARA will be announced at the June meeting.

From our Vice President:

I'm getting so excited!!! Our Speaker for the April meeting will be here soon.
Lawry Thorn from Sisters, Oregon will be giving a presentation of her quilts
and sharing her quilting knowledge and tips.  Hope you can make the meeting
as it should be a fun and exciting program.

Only a few more months before the Brown Bag projects are due, June meeting,
I am looking forward to seeing all the fun things our talented quilters have made.

As for the members who have signed up for the UFO challenge this year, you
have all summer to finish up, you have until September. Make sure you have
checked off the items you have finished on the lists you turned into me for more
chances at the prize(s).

"Too Much Fabric?"   No, I think the term you are looking for is "Too Small Sewing Room".

Happy Quilting
Dawn

P.S.  Would you be interested in going out to dinner with the teacher on Friday after class?  This would be open to all guild members, you would be buying your own dinner, just a fun and casual get together for fun.   Please only say Yes if you want to do this for sure because we need an estimate of how many would like to come so we can reserve a place.   Answer the survey below by Monday so we can make plans!
