Check this out! On Friday, March 30, PCWA performed its snow survey for April records. PCWA's Energy Marketing Manager and Hydrologist Darin Reintjes visited PCWA's four snow courses in the Sierra Nevada mountains to measure snow depth and the snow water equivalent. This data helps PCWA properly manage Middle Fork Project reservoirs for water supply and hydroelectric operations.
The April snow survey resulted in an average snow water equivalent of 18.5 inches which is 60 percent of average for this time of year. The results are a 6.5 times increase in the water content measured on March 1.
